Writing articles, and the newsroom

Article mode is for journalists and anyone writing stories. Writing modes are on Pro and Enterprise.

Start an article

1. Open the document for your story.
2. Open More, choose Writing mode, then Article.
3. Write the headline as the document’s title, and add a standfirst, byline and dateline under it.

To turn the mode off, choose its name at the top of the page, or open More, Writing mode and Turn off.

The Story panel

Open the Story panel from the top bar to move the story along, from Draft to Published, and to see its story lines. Copy for CMS gives clean HTML that a content system takes as it is.

The News desk template shows stories as cards, from Pitch to Published, on Pro and Enterprise.

The newsroom, on Enterprise

With the newsroom, a Legal step sits between Editing and Ready in the Story panel.

To hold a story until a set time, open Share and choose Set an embargo on the story’s link. Until then, the link shows only when it opens, in UTC, and nothing of the story. An embargo always ends before any expiry date.
